Options

APTOF Detectors:

Photonis' APTOF detectors provide superior temporal and spatial resolution as well as increased mass efficiency. Our ability to customize these detectors for each analytical instruments ensures that your analysis will be as accurate as possible.

UltraFast™ TOF Detectors

ultra-fast-tof-detectorOur UltraFast™ Time of Flight detectors are designed to provide analysis that 3 to 5 times faster than Advanced Performance Detectors. These TOF detectors feature an 18mm, 2 micron pore MountingPad™ MCP or a 25mm 5 micron pore MountingPad™ MCP. As the manufacturer, Photonis works with each one of our customers to ensure our detectors meet their specifications.

Gen2 UltraFast™ TOF Detectors

gen2-ultrafast-tof-detectorPhotonis’ Gen2 UltraFast™ Time of Flight (TOF) detector is equipped with one or more of our patented TruFlite™ MCPs, allowing it to reach speeds up to two times faster than similar TOF detectors. Photonis co-designs each of our detectors to fit our customers’ exact needs and specifications so that your analysis will be as accurate as possible.

The Gen2 UltraFast™ detectors provide pulse widths of less than 200 picoseconds and near-symmetrical 120 picosecond rise and fall times, producing a detector with exceptional levels of detection sensitivity and mass resolution. The Gen2 detectors are available with an 18mm input area, front-mount flange and an SMA output for easy installation.

Miniature TOF Detectors

miniature-tof-detector.These time of flight detectors have been optimized for portable mass spectrometers with an active area of 8mm. Delivering the same performance you have come to expect from Photonis, our miniature TOF detectors provide excellent detection sensitivity and mass resolution. Each detector utilizes two LongLife™, 5 micron pore MCPs (arranged as a Chevron) mounted on a compact vacuum flange for easy installation.

High Temperature TOF Detectors

high-temperature-tof-detectorsThis specialized time of flight detector is optimized to be able to provide superior resolution while withstanding operational temperatures of 150˚C and bake temperatures up to 300˚C. This allows for rapid chamber degassing while reducing excess noise in the instrument. Photonis manufactures our TOF detectors to fit each customers’ exact specifications.

BPTOF Detectors:

Our Bi-Polar TOF (BPTOF) detectors are designed to maximize mass resolution while conforming to a variety of unique configurations. Whether you need a non-linear detector a high mass detector, Photonis will work with you to ensure your test results are as reliable as possible.

BPTOF Detectors

ultra-fast-bipolar-tof-detectorsPhotonis’ BPTOF detectors enhance detection efficiency of both positive and negative high mass ions. Each of our BPTOF detectors are equipped with an extended dynamic range MCP to further enhance detection sensitivity and optimize your analysis. Available in 18, 25 and 40mm active areas, these mass spectrometer detectors will improve your instrument’s performance.

High Mass BPTOF Detectors

high-mass-bi-polar-tof-detectorPhotonis designed the High Mass BPTOF detector to provide improved detection efficiency with significantly less complexity than other detectors available today. The combination of our LongLife™ Microchannel Plate, high-speed scintillator, and photomultiplier allow this TOF detector to detect both positive and negative ions with 30 kV isolation. With a rise time of less than 1.2 nanoseconds FWHM, Photonis’ High Mass BPTOF detector is an ideal solution for applications which require sensitive high mass detection, such as MALDI-TOF, which  require sensitive high mass detection due to its optimized design and compact shape.

Off-Axis BPTOF Detectors

off-axis-tof-detectorFor analytical instruments where space and size are a main concern for your detector, Photonis offers the Off-Axis BPTOF detector. This detector supports non-linear configurations by mounting a PMT at a right angle to the scintillator. Requiring only 25mm of cylindrical space, the Off-Axis BPTOF detector features less than a 2 nanosecond pulse width and high output current.

Co-Axial BPTOF Detectors

co-axial-bipolar-tof-detectorsPhotonis designed the Co-Axial BPTOF detector to allow instrument designers to reduce the size of the vacuum chamber. By providing the option to generate ions behind the detector and launch them into a simplified reflectron lens for capture and analysis, Photonis has revolutionized Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry. This detector provides an 18mm active area and flange options of 4.5” or 6”.

Learning highlight

Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry has become the most widely used technique for identifying very large organic molecules. Recently, companies have started designing tabletop and portable TOF-MS instruments as the market has shifted. In this presentation, you will learn more about the origins of TOF-MS and how our detectors support these instruments.

Learn more

Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry requires a detector that can accurately and efficiently measure the flight patterns of charged particles. In this presentation, you will learn how Photonis’ BiPolar TOF detectors can be separated to detect either positive or negative ions. Through our testing, it was concluded that microchannel plate segmentation can be used in array applications in place of multiple point detectors.
