Hybrid Photo Diodes

Superior photon detection with nearly zero noise

Hybrid Photo Diodes provide excellent single photon detection capability with good linearity and fast timing. HPDs combine vacuum-based image intensification techniques with a silicon diode to provide maximum photon amplification while virtually eliminating additional noise. A wide range of models are offered to ensure you capture every available photon.
Hybrid Photo Diodes detect the greatest amount of photons with virtually no added noise. Hybrid Photo Diodes combine vacuum-based image intensification technologies with a silicon diode. Photonis offers a wide range of standard and custom detectors that are specifically designed for your application.  Options include focus type, optic entry window, photocathodes, MCP configurations and pixel configuations. Power supplies and cameras can also be ordered to support your specific application. Hybrid Photo Diodes are well-suited for high energy physics research, specialized medical imaging or space exploration.
