The first Defexpo India took place in the year 1999 and had the objective to promote defence exports from India and at the same time exhibit the capabilities of Indian Defence R&D and production. The first Defexpo India exhibition had 197 exhibitors and is grown by its 4th edition to one of the internationally recognized defence exhibitions in the world with 410 exhibitors in 2006.
