Large numbers of PHOTONIS photomultiplier tubes, mostly coupled to a scintillator, are used in diverse industrial markets for applications including:
- environmental and nuclear waste management
- mass spectrometers
- RIA counters
- level monitoring in silos
optical detectors (laser range finders and laser scanners)
- luminescence and fluorescence applications
security and governmental applications
For the industrial market, PHOTONIS recently introduced the XP3540 : a flat-faced 5-inch tube, with extremely high and uniform collection efficiency combined with our high-sensitivity gamma-camera cathode.
When coupled to a 5-inch diameter NaI(Tl) scintillator, the XP3540 offers a pulse-height resolution unmatched by any other 5-inch tube.
For new analytical instruments requiring a "green" response (such as in bioluminescence, chemiluminescence and fluorescence applications), a new family of low-noise tubes, with low cost-of-ownership, is being introduced.
These tubes are a few example of how PHOTONIS' extensive experience in the gamma-camera market feeds back into our industrial PMT programme by optimising tube design, processing and reproducibility on large-scale manufacturing. |
